NAPLAN results report CYAAA 2013

Our analysis suggests that the rate of progress per year for the Year 3 cohort has increased 40 per cent within DI programs since the introduction of the Academy. While progress is significant, it is slower than needed to achieve our goal that all students be at or above year level at the time of testing.

Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy Business Case CYAAA 2009

A  case for complementing ‘learning demand’ side reforms effected by the Cape York Welfare Reforms with ‘teaching supply’ side reforms, through the establishment of a specialist K–7 remote schools provider under the aegis of a statutory board led by Noel Pearson which has legislative delegation within the Queensland public schools system to provide education where parent communities support alternative provisioning.

“There is still much to do. We have to keep striving. We can’t say our schools are good until every single child is at grade level in literacy and numeracy. Every child who wants to play music should be able to do so from Kindergarten into secondary school.
We want every child to be able to formally learn their languages and cultures. And every child needs to be succeeding in a high expectation, high quality boarding school.
That is when we will have truly succeeded. That is when we will have Great schools — when our children have the ‘best of both worlds’ and can choose fulfilling lives.”
